About Me

I’m simply a person like you. I don’t have any special experience or qualifications in alcohol abuse. I’m not a counselor, therapist, or psychologist. In the tradition of AA, I desire to remain anonymous. It doesn’t matter who I am. What matters is how our stories have a “common thread” that connects us. Together, we can help each other recover from alcoholism.

What is a prophet? The answer isn’t as clear as you might think.
A prophet is basically a person chosen by God to speak to people and convey a message or teaching. According to some views, prophecy is the culmination of a person’s spiritual and ethical development. When a person reaches a sufficient level of spiritual and ethical achievement, the Shechinah (Divine Spirit) comes to rest upon him or her. From Prophets and Prophecy (Jewish perspective)

There are two forms of prophet: the one who tells the future, and the one who poignantly explains the signs of the times as a way of critiquing and calling the people back to God. Both are done with a sensitivity toward the Holy Spirit, and those who truly hear the Spirit speak truth which is often hard to hear.

Why did I choose the name The Web Prophet?
I have always had a “calling” to teach. I believed from a very early age that God called me to be a teacher. In the most basic way, I feel that God has chosen me to convey a message or teaching. I don’t think any of us ever reach spiritual perfection, but I do believe that as we earnestly make spiritual progress, the Divine Spirit does come rest upon us. You don’t have to be perfect to carry and convey a message or teaching.

I certainly can’t tell the future, but I do believe that I have been called to explain the sign of my times and through my story I believe it’s possible that I might call people back to God. What is the sign of the times anyway? Could it be personal? Could the the sign of the times really be my sign of the times? So, if I explain my sign of the times, then I’m speaking my truth. Does that make it true? Is personal truth, truth? Or is there only absolute truth? I wonder about these things.

So, why did I choose the name The Web Prophet?
My humble hope is that I will tell the truth here on the Web, and it will call someone back to God, even if that someone is only me.
